Flying Unicorn Mixed Media Altered Canvas

Hi friends :)

Today I want to share an altered canvas I made using all sorts of yumminess from Flying Unicorn. The beautiful paper I used for this canvas is the new studio 75 Rosalie In The Garden collection. I just LOVE this collection. It's really shabby chic and vintage.

I want this canvas to have a fairy tale, princess, and girly looking theme. So I added many layers of embellishments that I think fits the theme. Of course, flowers are the must when it comes to pretty much everyhing, lol. Then I added some Prima resin butterflies and clock for the shabby look. I also added some Flying unicorn metal adornments but painted them to match the color theme.

♫ Shimmerz Mixed Media Art Journal Page

Hiii friends :)

Today I am sharing an art journal page I created using ton of yummmmy Shimmerz paints. Scroll to the end for the product list.

Recently I have been crazy about teal and green colors, so as you can see, this art journal page is pretty green :) I used paints in different shades to add the subtle color variation. I think one or two colors could be a little big dull on art journal page, so I grabbed many different paints that are about the same color but has different tones. On this page, you can see the different greens, blues, and oranges.

I layered some paper as background, and I wrinkled up the edges of the paper to give it more texture so they don't look like they are all one layer.

Around the heart shape, I used some darker color paints to create a shadow effect, and it will make the heart shape pops out more.

ScrapFX Altered Key & Mixed Media Canvas

Hi Friends

Today I have 2 more ScrapFX DT projects to share :) One is an altered key wall art, the other one is a mixed media altered canvas.

For key, I used glass beads and mica flakes with heavy gel medium to add extra texture. The whole key has a gradient effect from green to light yellow. But I don't want the gradient to look too harsh. So I painted some orange paint on there to give this key some consistency.

For the canvas, I used a lot of paper and also some microbeads to add texture. I added layers and layers of paints to the background. But do make sure to that every layer is dried before you add another. I just LOVE the flourish corners.  They are so beautiful and so intricate. I used them all both of these two projects.

ScrapFX Mixed Media Scrapbook Layout: Picture Perfect

Hi friends,

Today I want to share my first DT project for ScrapFX (yayyy!!). Please go check out their blog too for gorgeous work from the DT.

The November release is just beautiful! love all the circles and number cluster. I tucked them here and there behind photos and papers to create layers. I also added many colors to the chippies for more texture and have them be more cohesive to the background.

I mixed micro beads with heavy gel medium and used them to add even more texture. Ever since I discovered how fun mica flakes are, I started using them like crazy on almost everything, so I can't resist  but put some of them on this layout too.

The little banner tucked behind paper is always a chippie from ScrapFX.

See the background texture? LOVE love love the maze stencil.

Mixed Media Scrapbook Layout: Inspired By Color

Hi friends :)
Today I want to share a mixed media scrapbook layout I made for Once Upon A Sketch November challenge. Can you believe its already November? Time just flies by you so fast.

The theme this month is to scrap something that inspires you. I have so many things that inspire me but I decided to go with color. This photo is from HERE. I love the pastel and fresh color combo, so I went with the color theme of the photo in my layout.

There are many texture elements in this layout, like floss, trims, mica flakes, texture paste, stamping, etc. At first I thought I might added a bit more than it needs, but I absolutely love how it turned out.
